Otter Creek to host Epson Tour event

Women’s professional golf is coming to Columbus.

Otter Creek Golf Course will host the Otter Creek Championship Presented by the Epson Tour June 14-16. A Pro-Am will take place June 12-13.

“They called us last year about hosting an event here at Harrison Lake in 2025, but it ended up falling through,” said Austin Wright, director of golf at Otter Creek and Harrison Lake Country Club. It just didn’t really pan out, but they had an opening on the schedule and asked us if we would be interested in hosting at Otter. It all kind of fell into place, so we’re off in running.”

The Epson Tour is the highest women’s tour level below the LPGA, similar to the men’s Korn Ferry Tour. The Otter Creek event will feature a $300,000 purse.

“It’s huge, not only for us at the club, but for the community, as well,” Wright said. “We’re looking at 144 of the best women’s golfers in the world coming to Columbus, Indiana. We’re the third-largest purse for the entire season, so we’re expecting some of the top players to show up.”

The field will be cut to top 60 and ties after second round.

Otter Creek will once again host an American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) event June 25-27. Wright said the planned renovation of the course won’t start until 2025.

“We’re hoping that after this event and after the (renovation), this is going to be something that we’re going to be doing a lot of,” Wright said.
