La Quinta, Calif. — Tyler Duncan birdied four of his last five holes to fire a 5-under-par 67 in Thursday’s opening round and is tied for 39th place in The American Express.
Starting on the back nine, the Columbus North graduate shot 1-under 35 on his first nine and 4-under 32 on the front at the Pete Dye Stadium Course.
Zach Johnson and Alex Noren, both of which played the La Quinta Country Club course, are tied for the lead at 10-under 62.
