Brian’s picks

* Kiss co-founder and lead guitarist Ace Frehley, the most musically successful member of the band as a solo act, will be in concert at 8 p.m. Saturday at Brown County Music Center, 200 Maple Leaf Boulevard in Nashville. His last solo disc was released in 2020 with a number of notable guest artists. Information and tickets: browncountymusiccenter.com.

*Attendees are part of the action and participants in the retro radio presentation of “Sunset Boulevard” at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 2-3 and at 2:30 p.m. Feb. 4 at Brown County Playhouse, 70 S. Van Buren St. in Nashville. The show “weaves a magnificent tale of faded glory and unfulfilled ambition,” according to the publicity material. “Silent movie star Norma Desmond longs for a return to the big screen, having been discarded by tinsel town with the advent of “talkies.” Her glamour has faded in all but her mind.” Information: browncountyplayhouse.com.

* With Indianapolis on the cusp of hosting the NBA All-Star Game Feb. 18 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, now seems to be a great time to catch “Going Pro: Basketball’s Origins in Indiana,” exhibit at the Indiana Historical Society, 450 West Ohio Street in downtown Indianapolis. In addition to Indiana Pacers legends Bobby “Slick” Leonard and Mel Daniels (above) dozens of professional teams made their mark on the Hoosier state with teams in cities including Anderson, Richmond, Indianapolis, Fort Wayne and Hammond.
