East boys win, girls fall vs. Red Devils

The Columbus East swimmers split with Jeffersonville on Saturday morning, winning the boys meet 123-61 and dropping the girls contest 100-84.

Misha Machavariani led the Olympian boys with wins in the 200-yard individual medley (2 minutes, 8.03 seconds) and 100 freestyle (49.91). Other winners were Cavan Stilson in the 50 freestyle (23.11), Gavin Day in the diving competition (246.85), Judah Nickoll in the 100 butterfly (54.95), Keaton Stephenson in the 500 freestyle (5:03.68), Todd Hundley in the 100 backstroke (58.51) and Ethan Hall in the 100 breaststroke (1:09.80). East also swept the 200 medley (1:45.43), 200 freestyle (1:39.52) and 400 freestyle (3:35.73) relays.

Connelly Furnish won the 200 freestyle (2:01.16) and 500 freestyle (5:31.09), and Gabbie Meier took the diving (213.30) and 100 freestyle (59.20) to lead the girls. Ali Trueblood captured the 100 breaststroke (1:19.05), and East won the 200 freestyle (1:49.61) and 400 freestyle (4:03.34) relays.
