The return of a sweet event is being planned, proceeds from which will help The ARC of Bartholomew County fulfill its mission to help local individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities as well as their families.
In this case, ARC stands for Always Ready for Chocolate, an event that used to be known as Taste of Chocolate. The event this year on Saturday, Feb. 10 at The Commons, 300 Washington St., Columbus, will continue a tradition of more than 25 years that features chocolate, art, music and more.
About 35 vendors have signed up for this year’s event — more than ever according to ARC executive director Grace Kestler. She said the event is ARC’s main annual fundraiser as well as a cherished community gathering.
ARC says visitors to Always Ready for Chocolate can expect:
- Desserts and treats from local bakeries, restaurants and organizations.
- Live entertainment including performances by Allie Jean and Dancer’s Studio.
- An art show and silent auction featuring art by individuals with disabilities.
- Local service providers and area resources sharing information on day services, ABA therapists, case management, financial planning and more.
General admission tickets begin at $25 for adults and $15 for children age 12 and younger. Tickets and more information is available at thearcbc.org.
