Mr. Martin “Mike” Michael Kuppler, age 76, of Elizabethtown, Indiana entered this life on August 21, 1947 in Madison, Indiana. He was the loving son of the late Martin Luther and Gaynell Louise West Kuppler. He was raised in Jefferson County on the family farm. He graduated in 1965 from Southwestern High School in Hanover, Indiana. He was raised in the Zoar United Methodist Church near Kent and remained a member until it closed and is now a member of the Disciples of Christ Church. He was inducted into the United States Army on October 6, 1966 in Louisville, Kentucky. He rose to the rate of Specialist Four serving during the Vietnam Era serving in the 42nd Cavalery Company third US Army. He was honorably discharged on October 4, 1968 at Fort Gordon, Georgia. He remained in the Reserves until being discharged on October 5, 1972. On June 29, 1968 Mike was united in marriage to Linda Fay Lichlyter at the Zoar United Methodist Church near Kent, Indiana. This happy union of 55 years was blessed with three daughters, Traci, Michelle and Julie. He worked for several years for Grote Industries in Madison and then worked for Cummins Engine Company and retired after 35 years as a international management in Columbus, Indiana. Mike held membership in the American Legion Post No. 24 Columbus, Indiana where he served on the Bartholomew County Veterans Honor Guard for five years. He enjoyed gardening, working in his yard and loved to tinker on things. He was a beloved husband, dad, grandpa, brother and uncle. Mike died on Thursday, February 1, 2024, at 12:26 p.m. at the Our Hospice of South Central Indiana in Columbus, Indiana.

A LOVING FAMILY

Mike will be missed by his loving wife of 55 years, Linda Fay Lichlyter Kuppler of Elizabethtown, Indiana; his daughters, Traci Aessa and her husband, Ali of New Carlisle, Indiana, Michelle Wollmann and her husband, Brad of Madison, Wisconsin, Julie Kemp and her husband, Nathan of Seymour, Indiana; his grandchildren, Maxwell Kemp and Madison Kemp; his sister, Judy Kuppler of Atlanta, Georgia; his brothers, Donald Kuppler and his wife, Doris of Madison, Indiana, Leroy Kuppler of Madison, Indiana; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father, Martin Luther Kuppler, died December 9, 1989, his mother, Gaynell Louise West Kuppler, died July 28, 1993, his sisters, Loraine Kuppler, died October 17, 1940, Joanna Marie Zobel, died August 5, 1986, Mary Frances Whitmer, died 1991, and Charlotte Ann Colyer, died February 15, 2015, his brothers, Marion Edward Kuppler, died January 30, 1962, Vance Allen Kuppler, died July 25, 2004, Larry West Kuppler, died January 3, 2014, George Calvin Kuppler, died 2019 and Dean William Kuppler, died in 2024.

FUNERAL CEREMONY

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, February 10, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., by Bro. Jimmy Cox at the Morgan &Nay Funeral Centre – Hanover Chapel, 278 East Main Street in Hanover, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Zoar Cemetery near Kent, Indiana.

VISITATION

Friends may visit Friday, February 9, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the Morgan &Nay Funeral Centre – Hanover Chapel, 278 East Main Street in Hanover, Indiana.

MILITARY HONORS

Military honors will be provided by the Bartholomew County Veterans Honor Guard.
