The IU Columbus baseball and softball teams each dropped River States Conference doubleheaders on Saturday.
The Crimson Pride baseball squad fell at Alice Lloyd (Kentucky) 11-6 and 3-1. Brevin Barker went 3 for 3, Aidan Hapner went 2 for 4 with a double and two RBIs, Wyatt Sutton went 2 for 4 and Lucas Slager went 2 for 5 in the opener. Starting pitcher Drew Bradley took the loss.
In the second game, Jackson Gilcrest threw a four-hitter, but the Crimson Pride were limited to three hits themselves.
Meanwhile, the IUC softball team lost to Shawnee State 5-1 and 8-0 in games played at Jennings County High School. Izzy Johnson went 2 for 3 and Columbus North graduate Taylor Hadley had the other hit in the opener. Alexia Rieckers took the loss.
Hadley had the lone Crimson Pride hit in the second game, going 1 for 3. Calie Beikes took the loss.
IUC baseball (7-19, 1-7) will play a single game Sunday at Alice Lloyd. The softball team (1-11, 1-5) hosts Alice Lloyd in a doubleheader beginning at noon Sunday at Ceraland.
