Columbus couple Adrienne and Brian Mormino formed the nonprofit READS — Recognizing, Educating and Advocating for Dyslexic Students, after their son was diagnosed with the learning disability. The launch was marked with a movie screening of “The Big Picture: Rethinking Dyslexia” at YES Cinema.
1999
Artist-in-residence Joe LaMantia of Bloomington finished up work on the more than 10-foot-tall, four-legged arch constructed on the Walnut Street side of the Taylorsville Elementary School. The colorful sculpture greeted visitors to the school and paid tribute to the school’s mascot, the bear.
1974
Fifty-four seniors received their diplomas at the Edinburgh Community High School commencement ceremony held in the gymnasium. Speakers for the senior class were Melinda Duncan, salutatorian, and Terry Mosier.
