The Columbus Park Foundation’s Race to Play initiative, which worked to improve and sustain neighborhood parks, celebrated its one-year anniversary. Events including cookouts and fun activities were held at Morningside, Pence Street and Ninth Street parks to celebrate.
1999
A reunion for former residents and workers of the Frances Comfort Thomas Orphanage was held at the Donner Park shelter house. Participants in the event were invited to share their memories and bring photos and other items relating to the orphanage.
1974
Columbus East High School students Gina Christopher and Glen Brown were chosen as the recipients of the Judson S. Erne Athletic Awards for mental attitude, athletic ability, grades and participation.
