Go! Guide – June 19

The medium is the message

Bailee Taylor, a Columbus mental health counselor and art therapist, says of her artwork, “We all have stories to be shared. Stories shape who we were, are and will become.” After the birth of her daughter in 2022 and suffering from severe postpartum preeclampsia, she was drawn to advocate for maternal health and mental health for herself and others. Examples of her personally expressive artwork in a variety of mediums will be on display through June 28 in “Healing HeART” at Perceptions Yoga, Mindfulness & Art, 139 State Road 3, Vernon. Gallery hours are noon to 5 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays. A closing reception will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday, June 28, where the public is invited to meet the artist and participate in an art activity.
