Jets top Lancers to close Morristown invite

MORRISTOWN — Hauser pulled out a win against Edinburgh in its final match of the day to finish 1-3 in the season-opening Morristown Invitational.

The Jets fell to Eastern Hancock 25-4, 25-5, Northeastern 25-8, 25-7 and Jac-Cen-Del 20-25, 25-16, 15-10 before topping the Lancers 25-17, 25-18.

Maley Jordan led Hauser with 17 kills and 17 digs. Leah Manley recorded 37 assists, Charleston Gelfius had six blocks and Kaysie Kistler served eight aces.

Also for the Jets, Kaidenze Shoaf tallied nine kills, two assists and two blocks. Gelfius and Kistler each pounded seven kills, Baylee Riley had one block and eight digs, Ruby McKinney notched nine digs, Jordan served seven aces and Manley added four aces.

Edinburgh went 0-4, falling to Southwestern (Shelby) 25-17, 25-18, Rising Sun 25-10, 25-8, Morristown 25-20, 25-13 and Hauser.

Kenna Streeval recorded eight kills, 57 digs and four aces and Kinzie Purvis had 14 assists and six blocks to lead the Lancers.

Also for Edinburgh, Streeval tallied four blocks, Elizabeth Hernandez notched 56 digs and Purvis added three kills, 20 digs and three aces. Gracelyn Adcock had three kills three blocks and three aces and Gracie Lawson and Lexi Riley each pounded three kills.
