Braves edge Panthers

NORTH VERNON — Brownstown Central pulled out a three-set win at No. 2 doubles to hand Jennings County a 3-2 defeat in its boys tennis season opener.

Parker Bales beat Smith Hackman 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1 singles, and Luke Napier topped Chase Brock 6-0, 7-6 (5) at No. 2 singles for the Panthers.

Jennings’ Ty Zohrlaut fell to Brady Davis 7-5, 6-4 at No. 3 singles. Cole Skinner and Brady Sentz lost to Pierson Wheler and Lane Steward 6-2, 6-2 at No. 1 doubles, and Nolan Sochacki and Asher Morin fell to Jace Reeser and Max Peeters 2-6, 7-5, 6-2 at No. 2 doubles.
