Hotel Indigo got a high-tech wash on Wednesday when a local company used drones to remove dirt and debris from the structure.
Jordan Hite, with Pressure Doctor, a local company owned by the Columbus firefighter, explained the business recently expanded to use drones to do pressure washing on multi-story buildings.
He estimated Wednesday’s process would take most of the day, cleaning off dirt
and cobwebs off the building’s exterior.
There are two drones that carry spray wands which are operated by workers on the ground to wash the building remotely.
Hite said the advantage of using drones is that lifts and cranes do not need to be brought in (which is less expense) so it’s more cost effective and there
is no damage moving heavy equipment on to property. The drones carry pressure wands spraying water on to the building.
