Columbus East played a close second set with perennial power Providence Thursday in a 25-15, 25-20, 25-16 volleyball defeat.
Kimberly Carothers recorded six kills and one ace, and Krea Martin had 14 assists and one ace to lead the Olympians (3-12). Lauren Smith notched 16 digs, and Lilah Klei served one ace.
Also for East, Anika Jenkins pounded four kills, and Jillian Chapple added three assists. Carothers and Chloe Gill each tallied 12 digs.
