2014

More than 2,000 cyclists biked in the 27th annual Hope Ride, which began with a pancake breakfast at Hauser High School. The five different routes included stops at Hartsville Town Square, Windy Hill, Red Dog’s Petting Zoo and the Hope Town Square for lunch.

1999

Seventy-one local children were given free plane rides during the Young Eagles program at the Columbus Municipal Airport, which was sponsored locally by the Experimental Aircraft Association. The flights coincided with the 100th anniversary of the Wright brothers’ first powered flight and the 50th anniversary of the EAA.

1974

An appreciation coffee was held in the Red Room of the Cleo Rogers Memorial Library for volunteers of the Meals on Wheels program. Flowers were presented to Mr. and Mrs. Max Lemley, managers of Sap’s Buffeteria, for their help with the service.
