Tressa Jane Hoffman

COLUMBUS

Jane Hoffman, 95, of Columbus, passed away on Friday, September 20, 2024 at The Belmont, Columbus. She was born August 10, 1929, in Columbus, to William S. and Tressa J. (Beeker) Ott. They preceded her in death.

Jane was a long-time member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, White Creek, where she was a member of the Ladies Aid Society and the Senior League. She was past-president of the Bartholomew County Home Extension Club and the 1948 Bartholomew County Fair Queen. Jane was also an avid quilter and loved playing cards, especially bid euchre.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Martin Hoffman; brothers, John and Robert Ott; sisters, Jessie Johnson and Sarah Carter, grandson, Ted Willard Hoffman, and great-great-grandson, Tommy Ely.

Survivors include her loving children, Ronald (Becky) Hoffman of Columbus, Robert (Phyllis) Hoffman of Connersville, and Janice (Steve) Hoevener of Elizabethtown; brother, Oram Ott of Columbus; sister, Nell Ferris of Sallisaw, OK; grandchildren, Lorraine (Greg) Phillips of Atlanta, GA, John (Laura) Hoevener of Goshen, OH, Mark (Lisa) Acton of Bloomington, Jeff (Amber) Hoevener of Loveland, OH, Matt Acton of Lebanon, KY, Ann (Tim) Wieman of Lake St. Louis, MO, Jaison Acton of Franklin, Doug (Debra) Hoffman of Freetown, Ben (Steph) Hoffman of Connersville, Andy (Leah) Hoffman of Columbus, Julie (Ben) Hoene of Elizabethtown, and Tressa (Doug) Herold of Columbus. Also surviving are 27 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be 12:00 noon, Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, White Creek, with Pastor Jim Haugen officiating. Burial will follow at St. John’s Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to service time Wednesday at the church.
