Columbus resident Deepti Vijaykumar recently presented a TEDx Talk in Bloomington.
The Bartholomew Consolidated School Foundation (BCSF) has named Deepti Vijaykumar as its new executive director. She brings a wealth of experience in public speaking, education, and leadership development to her new role, having made a significant impact in the Columbus community for over a decade. She is a TEDx speaker, children’s book author, and a Triple Crown Toastmaster, known for her dedication to supporting education, diversity, and inclusion.
Her leadership experience includes mentoring professionals in speaking and leadership skills through her local Toastmasters club, where she serves as president. She has represented the Indian culture and community on radio, television, and podcasts, advocating for causes close to her heart. Recently, Deepti was a delegate at the US-India Partnership Summit, held in June at the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C., where she contributed to discussions on fostering high-performance tech export and defense cooperation.
Her work also extends into creative writing, with her children’s book, “Diwali in the Midwest,” earning praise from schools and libraries in the community. Several schools within BCSC, including Southside and CSA Fodrea Elementary, have hosted events with Deepti to celebrate the book, fostering an inclusive learning environment for students.

We look forward to supporting her in her new role and growing the foundation’s impact together.”
Deepti lives in Columbus with her husband, Pushkar Agashe, a system performance engineer at Cummins, and their 6-year-old son, Raghav, who attends Parkside Elementary School. With an educational background in mechanical engineering, marketing, and business analytics, she brings a unique perspective to her role, further strengthening BCSF’s mission to enhance educational opportunities for all students in Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp.
