Fallen tree blocking 24th Street near Sycamore Street on marathon race route

The intersection of 24th Street and Sycamore is among those that are being used by Mill Race Marathon runners on Saturday. High winds are blowing debris and tree limbs on to many Columbus streets.

COLUMBUS, Ind. — Columbus firefighters are at the scene of a large tree which fell across 24th Street at Sycamore Street near Donner Park tonight.

The tree has completely blocked 24th Street and if not removed, could impact runners ability to compete in the Mill Race Marathon on Saturday, as there is debris on Sycamore Street nearby.

Power was out for a short time in the neighborhood after the tree fell, but is being restored.

Power continues to be out for the block at 25th Street and Central Avenue.
