Loyd is the choice for BCSC school board

Whittney Loyd lets her life speak through her actions and vision. That voice would be tremendously important for the Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation (BCSC) school board. She has the background. She has the heart. What she needs is our support.

I became a teacher because I liked books. It quickly became evident that I loved the students and families more. And, each year in education I heard repeatedly, “What’s best for the kids?” The children and the mantra were inseparable.

In 1975 I met my first 200 students at North Vernon, most of their parents, some of the siblings, and many of their friends. Over the next 45 years the numbers multiplied exponentially. Each semester brought a fresh crowd, and more were added with the transition to Northside and BCSC. Eventually came the sons and daughters of past students.

Every fall offered new meet-and-greet opportunities and new insights into family strengths and needs. Community partnerships expanded. Community resources were shared. And, leadership in all of Bartholomew County stepped forward time and again to pursue, “What’s best for kids?”

One of those leaders was and is Whittney Loyd. I first met Whittney when she was in middle school but was fortunate to see her in action at Turning Point. Whittney knows our community and our families. She understands their challenges and opportunities. She has hopes for family resiliency and a faith in the children of our future.

Vote for Whittney Loyd. She’s proven to be what’s best for our kids.
