An installation project by Columbus-based furniture designer Jonathan Nesci called “100 Variations: New Reflections on Eliel Saarinen” opened with a free public reception in the courtyard of First Christian Church. Nesci designed the piece based on the Golden Ratio, a mathematical equation.
1999
The 16th annual Ethnic Expo opened in downtown Columbus, which featured ethnic food, entertainment, clothes and crafts. Among the food stands was Claude Goguen’s French Canadian booth, where he served poutine, French fries with cheese and gravy, and fricot, a Canadian chicken stew.
1974
The Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra performed a concert featuring 80 musicians in the Columbus North High School gymnasium. Some of the arrangements featured were “Symphony No. 39 in E-flat Major” by Wolfgang Mozart and “An American in Paris” by George Gershwin.
