The Columbus North boys tennis team took care of business once again.

The fifth-ranked Bull Dogs posted shutouts in four of the five matches to claim a 5-0 victory over Batesville in the regional semifinal Tuesday to advance to the regional final Wednesday against Seymour, which won 3-2 over Scottsburg in the other semifinal match.

“We were definitely favored in this match, so it turned out the way as we expected it to,” North coach Kendal Hammel said. “We’re looking forward to the next round. We got (Seymour) during the season, but it’s another new day to play.”

Hank Lin defeated Caleb Mohr at No. 1 singles, Parth Shah defeated Jevan Smith at No. 2 singles, Teddy Littrell defeated Carson Meyer at No. 3 singles and Sashu Sabapathy and Michael Crossman defeated Wes Peters and Owen Westerfeld at No. 2 doubles all by 6-0, 6-0 scores for the Bull Dogs (18-1).

Even though it wasn’t a shutout, Yoki Murabayashi and Vince Sasse topped Lincoln Garrett and Deev Ranka 6-3, 6-2 at No. 1 doubles to complete the sweep.

The regional championship will be at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at North.
