2014

A group of third-graders from Southside Elementary School were the first of about 800 students to visit Irwin Gardens on their architectural field trip around Columbus. Executive Director of the Bartholomew Consolidated School Foundation Ethan Crough arranged the trip through the Columbus Area Visitors Center.

1999

Members of East Columbus Christian Church gathered around a television to find moral themes in several episodes of “The Andy Griffith Show” in a class titled Finding the Way Back to Mayberry.

1974

Capt. James Miller of the Columbus Fire Department was named the 1974 Fireman of the Year by the Evening Exchange Club. Miller was honored by the club during a banquet at Donner Center.
