The Irish Dancers of Indianapolis performed at the 31st annual Ethnic Expo, then pulled audience members up to the stage at the end of the performance. One such audience member was 7-year-old October Thomas, who also marched with her Brownie troop in the Expo parade.

The watercolor art of Marianne Wiggers was featured in a display in the lobby at IUPU Columbus through October. Wiggers was an IUPU Columbus advisory board member and the marketing and economic development director of Southeastern Indiana REMC.

Robert N. Brown, managing partner in Home News and publisher of The Republic, became president of the Inland Daily Press Association in Chicago. The association represented more than 500 papers in the nation.
