Nolan Dailey // Hauser senior cross-country runner
Dailey ran 16 minutes, 52.49 seconds for 5,000 meters (3.1 miles) Saturday to win the Mid-Hoosier Conference race and lead the Jets to the team title.
His performance last week: “I think our team did really well. We had first, fourth, fifth and sixth, so we all ran well. I went out and extended my lead during the race, so it was a good performance from all of us.”
Do you do anything special to prepare? “We have team dinners the day before meets, so we all talk and eat. Then on the way to the meet, I listen to music and make sure I stay locked into things and don’t goof around.”
Favorite drink: “Water”
Favorite food: “Chicken Alfredo”

Favorite athlete: “Michael Jordan”
Role model: “My coach (Ben Finke), (former Hauser and current Hanover runner) Colin Kistler and (former Columbus North and current Kentucky runner) Will Russell”
Best advice: “Set your mind to something and be consistent with going to that goal is the best way to accomplish that goal. Working hard at something makes way more of a difference than you think it would.”
Athletics goal: “I would really like to get a scholarship for a D-I school to run.”
If you could travel anywhere: “Hawaii, because I love beaches.”

Krea Martin
Krea Martin // Columbus East sophomore volleyball player
Martin led the Olympians with 41 assists in a four-set win at Madison; 15 assists, 13 digs and two aces in a three-set loss at Roncalli and 57 assists and 26 digs in four losses in Saturday’s East Invitational. She went over the 1,000-assist mark for her career.
Her performance last week: “Madison was a really strong game for us. We were really playing as a team. Then, Roncalli was a tough game, but we hung with them. It was rough (Saturday).”
Do you do anything special to prepare? “Before every game, I pray, and I stretch.”
