Three Duke Energy linemen, Brandon Combs and Steve Hickman of Columbus, and Garry Hoff of Seymour, traveled to Bonner Springs, Kansas, to compete in the International Linemen’s Rodeo.

Carmen Ridley, adjunct lecturer in music at IUPU Columbus, presented the October Brown Bag Lunch Lecture at the college. The lecture focused on the four types of sacred music — spiritual, gospel, oratorio and carol.

Columbus Poetry Club member Frances Brown Price of Franklin was named Poet Laureate for 1975 by the Indiana State Federation of Poetry Clubs. Price received a pin from Barbara Dale, state president of poetry clubs, at a meeting with the Lake County Poetry Club.
