Virginia Elaine Parvis

COLUMBUS

Virginia Elaine Parvis, 81, of Columbus, formerly of Connersville, passed from this life at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at Traditions of Columbus.

Virginia was born November 17, 1942, in Indianapolis, Indiana, the daughter of Paul and Eileen Archer Zoellner. On April 29, 1972, she married Herbert F. Parvis, and they moved to Connersville.

Elaine worked in retail most of her life, the longest being at JC Penny Department Store. In her spare time, she enjoyed growing flowers, keeping a beautiful home, and cooking for her family. Elaine loved bowling with her league team, where she scored a 276 during that time. It would have been a perfect game, but Herb walked into the bowling alley, distracting her attention. Elaine also loved to shop-any and all shopping. Dancing was another love of Elaine’s. She and Herb could literally “clear a floor” when it came time to dance together, whatever the occasion. She took great care of her automobiles throughout the years because she simply loved her cars. Elaine had an uncanny ability to talk her way out of speeding tickets on the rare occasion that she was stopped for going “a little too fast”. Motorcycle trips and traveling cross-country with Herb was one of her favorite things to do together. Her charm, charisma and love for her family will be deeply missed by those that knew her.

Survivors include daughters, Kristina Armour (Mike) Black of Bloomington, Lorna (Jimmie) Levings of Indianapolis, Regina McIntyre of Columbus; grandchildren, Breanna (Dalton) Hair, Sean McIntyre, Brett McIntyre, Erin McIntyre, Jacob Black, Jordan (Jennifer) Black, Jeremy (Chelsea) Black; great-grandchildren, Emma Black, Parker Black; siblings, Linda Hargrave, Bernadine Moss, Jeanette Millard, Michael (Pam) Zoellner, Larry (Helene) Zoellner, Rick (Lisa) Zoellner; brother-in-law, Ernie Parvis; dozens of nieces, nephews and of course, her beloved Shih Tzu, Bandit.
