Trinity tops Jets, Shiners to win sectional

SEYMOUR — Class A No. 1 Trinity Lutheran volleyball swept Hauser 25-6, 25-11, 25-10 in the semifinals on Saturday morning and Rising Sun 25-5, 25-8, 25-7 in the final on Saturday evening to capture the Trinity Sectional title.

The Cougars (25-8) will play in a regional on Oct. 26 at a site to be determined.

In Trinity’s win against Rising Sun, Carson Bowling pounded 13 kills, Addie Darlage recorded 30 assists, Laura Roeder notched 11 digs and Ava Blomenberg served seven aces. Madison Keith tallied eight kills, Darlage and Rachel Bonde each added four kills, Roeder served three aces and Presley Meyer had two aces.

Against Hauser, Blomenberg and Bonde each pounded eight kills, Darlage recorded 26 assists, Roeder notched 17 digs and Bowling and Zoey Dulaney each served four aces. Darlage tallied six kills, Roeder had five assists and Meyer added one ace.

Maley Jordan led the Jets (4-26) with two kills and 11 digs. Leah Manley recorded three assists, and Charleston Gelfius and Regan Mack each had one block.

Also for Hauser, Kaidenze Shoaf tallied one kill, one assist and six digs. Gelfius notched one kill and two digs, Aleigha Wickliff and Kaysie Kistler each pounded one kill and Manley added two digs.
