Support Loyd for BCSC school board

I am fortunate to have had a front row seat to Whittney Loyd’s growth as a leader in an environment where integrity, transparency and ethical business practices are critical. Lives depend on it. These qualities and more make her the right candidate and my choice for BCSC School Board District 3.

When I joined Turning Point in 2013, Whittney was a team member focused on development and working with youngsters and donors on Dance Marathon. She became a trusted mentor and role model to hundreds of high schoolers. Watching her work, I knew then that Whittney was the absolute right person to take over the reins one day.

After Turning Point, she moved on to broaden her leadership experience at Riley Hospital for Children and then back home to the United Way of Bartholomew County where she focused on building relationships in the community to support those in need. We continued our conversation about the future of Turning Point and how her skills made her the perfect fit. When I retired in 2021, I left the agency I loved in the most capable hands. She proves me right every day.

Whittney’s ability to navigate a highly emotional landscape while maintaining an exceptional level of operating standards creates a culture of stability – and most importantly trust. She is reliable and focused. Her door is always open. She actively listens, says what she means and does what she says. She models collaboration and team building.

Whittney leads from the front. She pitches in and sets a remarkable example not only for her colleagues but more importantly for her two children. They clearly understand at their young ages the importance of community and giving back. Operating in an environment where existence is dependent on federal, state, local, private and public funding, only accountability, fiscal prudence and total transparency work.

She answers to many different stakeholder groups. She responds openly, honestly and responsively. This has been a cornerstone of Turning Point’s operating protocol. Whittney is committed to this level of excellence in every way.

These qualities and practices are important in a healthy functioning school board. Accountability, integrity, listening skills and service to many stakeholders are the anchors of good judgment.

Knowing the challenges of leading Turning Point, I asked Whittney why she wanted to add the BCSC School Board to her plate. Her answer was swift and concise – an outstanding education system is critical to a healthy, thriving community.

Investing in our students, providing teachers with the necessary resources and excellent facilities enhances our community. As a parent she sees these needs firsthand and wants to challenge our community to achieve them affordably.

Bartholomew County has been Whittney’s home all her life. Now it is her family’s home. And she cares deeply that it is your family’s home, too. Whittney will deliver good decisions, with integrity, transparency, and honesty for your family. Please join me. Vote Loyd for BCSC and our community this election. Thank you.
