NORTH VERNON — Jennings County Sheriff deputies arrested a North Vernon man on multiple felonies related to a burglary in the Hayden area on Tuesday.

Sgt. Thomas Mellencamp took a report of a burglary that occurred earlier Tuesday morning in the Hayden area. The burglars stole building materials from a home that was in the process of being built. The contractors were able to provide pictures of the suspect vehicle due to cameras they had installed.

At approximately 1:30 p.m. on the same day, Mellencamp observed the suspect vehicle pull into a local business. He made contact with the driver, Eric Hubbard, 34, of North Vernon, who admitted to taking the items from the home.

The truck Hubbard was driving was found to be stolen out of Lafayette, deputies said. During a search of the vehicle deputies located Methamphetamine and paraphernalia. Deputies also located evidence of a previous theft of a trailer that was reported stolen from Jackson County.
