2014

First Presbyterian Church celebrated the 60th anniversary of its preschool with a special service and musical performance by its students. Staff and former students were recognized at a ceremony after the service.

1999

A costume contest was held at The Commons, which featured 100 children ages 6 and younger and 48 children ages 7 to 12. Aeriel Pettit, 4, and her brother, Caleb, 7 weeks, won the contest dressed as a farmer and a pea pod.

1974

The area Toastmasters Club celebrated the 50th anniversary of Toastmasters International at Gene’s Cafeteria in Eastbrook Plaza. Jake Sanneheim, Toastmasters International area governor, spoke about the founding and history of the organization.
