Crusaders play in NACA Tournament

DAYTON, Tenn. — Columbus Christian wrapped up its volleyball season this week by playing in the National Association of Christian Athletes Tournament in Dayton, Tennessee.

The Crusaders went 2-4 in their six games to finish eighth in Division 4. They opened the tourney by falling to Alecheia 20-19, 20-15 and beating Central Baptist 20-12, 20-8 on Wednesday.

On Thursday, Columbus Christian lost to Cleveland (Tennessee) Christian 20-10, 20-12 and Trinity Griffin 20-9, 20-15 and beat Our Savior 20-14, 20-11. The Crusaders fell to CCAA 20-13, 20-12 on Friday.

Bella Frederickson led the Crusaders (7-20) with 17 kills and one block. Abby Dora recorded 28 assists, Emma Rice notched 40 digs and Mara Nickerson served 15 aces.

Also for Columbus Christian Katie Bond tallied nine kills, 16 digs and 10 aces, and Mara Nickerson had 14 assists and 11 digs. Miyanna Haywood pounded eight kills, and Hannah Kelley served six aces.

Dora was named to All-Tournament team.
