Letter: Support GOP candidates for county council

From: Cole Bennett

Columbus

As you make your way to the polls this year, please don’t forget about your local elections. Bartholomew County Council members make critical decisions regarding the fiscal health and effectiveness of our county. With three seats of the seven-member council up for grabs, your vote could impact Bartholomew County for years to come.

That is why we deserve leaders that will prioritize the needs of everyday people, by investing in our communities and attracting businesses that make our county thrive. Michael Bell, Kim Bennett (no relation), and Marcus Speer are those leaders.

All three candidates have roots in Bartholomew County, and bring their own unique skill sets and perspectives to the table. Bell, an accountant, will prioritize fiscal responsibility. Bennett has extensive experience in public and private business partnerships. Speer, who wears many hats, offers his agricultural experience. Over the last year, at various Republican Party events, I have had the pleasure of witnessing their dedication to our communities and genuine drive to make our county’s government work for everyone.

Local elections matter. This year, vote for responsible use of our tax dollars. Vote for balanced budgets and economic development that propels our county into the future. This year, join me in voting for Bell, Bennett, and Speer for Bartholomew County Council.
