Crimson Pride runners set school records

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Jackson Neibert and Brett Kleber ran school records, and several other IU Columbus runners set personal records Saturday in the Great Lakes Challenge.

Neibert ran 27 minutes, 25 seconds for 8K (5 miles) to lead the Crimson Pride men to a 22nd-place team finish. Emiliano Rosales-Lopez took 116th in 29:15, while Conner Beatty was 133rd (30:27), Joey Martinez 224th (37:41) and Blake Nigg 225th (38:26).

The IUC women had four runners, one short of the number needed to score as a team. Kleber finished 34th in 20:09 for 5K. Erin Jones took 74th in 21:24, while Abby Voss was 82nd place (21:33) and Grace Barkes 168th (31:47).

The Crimson Pride will close the season Nov. 9 in the River States Conference meet at Angel Mounds in Evansville.
