The Hauser High School volleyball team won the regional championship, beating Indianapolis Lutheran 25-22, 25-19, 24-26, 26-24. The Jets were led by Jordan McDaniel with 12 kills and multiple blocks by Maranda Knight.

The annual Artrageous Show fundraiser for the Indianapolis Museum of Art – Columbus Gallery was held at the Ramada Inn. Artwork for sale included terra-cotta bowls, pressed flowers and glass ornaments.

Chef Jens Thomsen, food manager at the Imperial House Motel west of Columbus, was the first speaker in a series on food preparation at The Commons. Another speaker was Chef Bernard Clayton, who published an encyclopedia on breads.
