Elks Christmas Cheer Fund helps 45 families, 118 children
The Columbus Elks Lodge #521 supported 45 families and 118 children this year through the club’s annual Children’s Christmas Cheer Fund.
Holiday office closings listed
The following closings have been announced for the Christmas and New Year’s holidays.
- Columbus City Hall and city offices will be closed Friday and Monday.
- The Columbus City Utilities office will be closed Friday and Monday. Regular business hours will resume on Tuesday, Dec. 26, at 7 a.m. The office will be closed Dec. 29 and Jan. 1 for New Year’s. Regular business hours will resume on Tuesday, Jan. 2, at 7 a.m. If you have a problem with your water or sewer service, call the business office at 812-372-8861 and follow the prompts.
- The city’s Public Works office will be closed Friday and Monday and reopen at 7 a.m. Tuesday. There will be no collections on Monday, Christmas Day, with all collections having a one-day delay through Dec. 30. The office will also be closed Dec. 29 and Jan. 1, reopening on Jan. 2 at 7 a.m. There will be no collections on Jan. 1, with all collections on a one-day delay, with the Friday collections being Jan. 6.
- Bartholomew County offices and the courthouse will be closed Friday and Monday.
- The Republic offices will be closed Monday to allow its employees to enjoy the Christmas holiday with their families.
